The more I get to know Him

I can trust Him to calm the waters

When we're struggling in rough seas

To explain a bad situation

God talks straight to your heart

And by His grace He conquers

Any battle trying to keep us apart

It all started with one act of faith

I confessed

I believed

And your reward was grace

I would soon find accepting Jesus,

Meant my life was no longer mine

And His purpose in me,

Transform carnal to divine

It didn’t seem possible,

But sure enough, step by step,

I got to know Him through bible study, worship and fellowship

And just when I thought I was really
      getting it,

Trials and tribulations assured me

Not yet, not yet

My relationship with God was not just
      for me,

The knowledge and wisdom He blessed
      me with,

Was for the world to see

And my greatest weapon was not words
      alone,

But to live like Christ

Who conquers hearts of stone

How could God take someone like me,

To help build His kingdom

That sets sinners free

But, through every weakness, doubt
      and fear

God used my troubles to draw me
      nearer

And sometimes when I just want to sit
      down and rest

God always reminds me,

Not yet, not yet

Not yet, as long as you live

Not yet, as long as you have breath

Not yet, my servant

For one more needs to know Jesus
